The district is pleased to announce that Dr. Marie Netto has been appointed as a new assistant principal at H. Frank Carey High School, effective Sept. 25.
Dr. Netto has more than 20 years of experience in the field of education. She has an extremely accomplished professional body of work as a teacher of English and a chairperson of English, as well as successful building-level administrative experience at the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District and Harborfields Central School District. Among her many accomplishments, she spearheaded multiple programs and activities to reduce chronic absenteeism, increase student engagement, address social and mental health concerns, enhance academic success, and promote diversity, equity and inclusion. Dr. Netto also organized and conducted student and family orientations, workshops, and college readiness activities.
Dr. Netto earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Binghamton University, a Master of Science in secondary English education from Hofstra University, a Master of Science in school leadership from Touro University and a Doctor of Education in educational administration and supervision from St. John’s University.
