Medical Assisting Program Organizes Health Event

The district’s Medical Assisting program students recently partnered with Molloy University to offer free, preventative health screenings to district staff.

Molloy University's Community Outreach team brought their Community Care Mobile Clinic to Sewanhaka High School, offering screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, A1C and blood sugar and BMI, as well as smoking cessation counseling. Staff were encouraged to take advantage of these services to prioritize their health conveniently and at no cost.

In addition to their Community Outreach team, Molloy University involved students from a variety of their health sciences programs, including nursing, speech pathology and more.

Special thanks go to our Medical Assisting students and their teacher, Nurse Lorusso, for their hard work and coordination in helping to make this event a resounding success!
