Elmont Memorial High School student Britney Bennett was among 25 high school seniors statewide to be named a nominee for the 2022 U.S. President Scholars Program by the New York State Education Department.
The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects scholars annually based on their academic success, artistic excellence, essays, school evaluations and transcripts, as well as community service, leadership and demonstrated commitment to high ideals. Application to the program is by invitation only.
Semifinalists will be notified in mid-April and scholars will be notified in May.
