Elmont Memorial High School’s Middle School Science Bowl Team, comprised of seventh and eighth graders, competed in the Regional Middle School Science Bowl on Feb. 2. The Regional Middle School Science Bowl, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, was held at the Brookhaven National Labs.
Students competed against teams from across Long Island and New York City in a quiz-bowl style event and STEM challenge. Elmont’s team placed first in the STEM challenge. The winning team consists of eighth graders Ravenne Gregory and Carlos Garcia Vazquez, and seventh graders Nabeela Jahir, Emmanuel Omoseyin, and James Schumacher.
