On March 20, the math and science departments at Floral Park Memorial High School welcomed current seventh and eighth-grade students, as well as incoming sixth graders, for the first STEM Night. The science department engaged students with hands-on experiments and activities, including circuit building, soil profile creation, identifying a microscopic image and fingerprint analysis. Meanwhile, the math department captivated participants with interactive math games such as Math Jenga, Shut the Box, Geometry of a Guitar, Sphero Bots and Geometric Bubbles. Students and families enthusiastically explored each station, making it an exciting and educational experience for all. The event was led by Math Chairperson and District Coordinator Marcella Fini-Jackman and Science Chairperson Lisa Knowles.
