Sewanhaka Central High School District Introduces the Seal of Biliteracy Opportunity
The Sewanhaka Central High School is delighted to announce that students will now have the opportunity to achieve the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB). The NYSSB recognizes students who develop high levels of proficiency in English and one or more world languages.
Students have multiple pathways to achieve this recognition by their senior year. Students can demonstrate high levels of proficiency in world languages studied at school, or in a language that may be spoken at home.

Congratulations to Coach Michael Spina on his 200th win as the Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach at Floral Park Memorial! The girls defeated Wantagh with a final score of 45-28 on January 30th to earn Spina's 200th victory at Floral Park Memorial. Great job!

Hey art students! We are looking for student artwork to help create the design of a "Save The Knight" t-shirt! The design would have to incorporate our school colors; red, black and white, and the words "Save The Knight". Designs must be submitted to Dr. D'Ammassa (gdammassa@sewanhakaschools.org) by Monday, February 13th! Your design will be featured on the t-shirts that we will be selling to purchase our new Knight costume!

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of the Sewanhaka Central High School District originally scheduled for November 22, 2022 has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00pm.
The meeting will take place at Sewanhaka High School. It is anticipated that a motion to adjourn to Executive Session will be made immediately after the opening of the public portion of the meeting to discuss matters involving negotiations, particular personnel and matters within the attorney-client relationship.
The Audit Committee of the Board of Education of the Sewanhaka Central High School District, originally scheduled for November 22, 2022 has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place at Sewanhaka High School. It is anticipated that a motion to adjourn to Executive Session, for this purpose, will be made immediately after the opening of the public portion of the meeting, to review and discuss with the external auditor any risk assessment of the District’s fiscal operations.
Public Session will reconvene in the Auditorium at 8:15pm. The public is invited to attend.
Marking Period 1 Report Cards will be available on Friday, November 18th at 3:00PM.
