Sheyla Alarco, Ashna Balroop, Win Hla, Catherine Krisenlall, Daisha Lespinasee, Emiley Muthusamy and Asmin Simsek attended the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) 2023 State Conference in, Callicoon, N.Y., from March 22-24. FCCLA’s 2023 state conference drew over 180 student members, along with advisers and supporters from across the state with opportunities for personal development, career exploration and community service. There are 660 members in the state of New York.
For the first time in Sewanhaka history, each FCCLA member placed gold in their respective competitions and qualified to represent Sewanhaka at the FCCLA National in Conference in Denver, Colo.
Daisy Amaris has served as advisor for eight years and was recently awarded the FCCLA Advisor of the Year by the Long Island Family and Consumer Sciences Professional organization. She is the embodiment of hard work and dedication.
