The district recently had eight students selected to have their artwork on display in the 19th annual Advanced Visions: High School Artists of Excellence exhibit at LIU Post’s new Steinberg Museum of Art in Brookville. The exhibition showcased artwork from 50 high school students enrolled in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs from 30 high schools across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
The exhibiting student-artists included Andres Garcia and Alice Valenzuela from Elmont Memorial High School; Cloud Lewis and Abigail Villani from Floral Park Memorial High School; Nicolas Barreto and Isabel Mogollon from H. Frank Carey High School; and Alejandro Castro and Kyra Groves from Sewanhaka High School.
