On May 23, as part of Fleet Week, Sewanhaka High School’s outdoor fields became the landing location for two U.S. Navy helicopters and one Marines helicopter.
Students received a hands-on experience, exploring the helicopters and speaking with the officers in attendance. There were also recruitment tables set up for the Navy and Coast Guard.
Before the landing, there was a small ceremony led by Rear Admiral McCall, Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic. The event was organized by Sewanhaka teacher John Regan and school counselor Joseph Hutter.
