Students at the Sewanhaka Science Showcase

On March 24, the Sewanhaka Science Showcase took place in the student cafeteria. It incorporated many science demonstrations and student work. Medical Detectives students measured students’ blood pressure and displayed students’ neuron models, as well as dissected sheep brains and frogs. Forensic Science students fingerprinted students. The Science National Honor Society displayed their lung models and lava lamps, and built a volcano that erupted four times during the event. Ms. Sherwood’s Earth Science students performed a convection demonstration and a tornado-in-a-jar demonstration. They displayed student models regarding climate factors. Students also played Earth Science Corn Hole and were able to win prizes. Junior High Research students displayed their research project boards. Mr. Chen had the Robotics Club robot showing its abilities. STEP Program students displayed some of their models, and Mr. Botka had a drone flying outside. The Showcase was a great success and students had a wonderful time!
