On April 29, Sewanhaka High School English teacher Paige Fitzsimmons and her student Jannat Kamal organized a visit of three Vietnam War veterans, who are also Sewanhaka High School alumni, to speak to Ms. Fitzsimmons’ English students. The students recently completed a unit on the book “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien, which is about the Vietnam War. The students were captivated by the veterans, and the presentation was thoughtful and engaging.
