H. Frank Carey High School is proud to announce that Alexis Mayer and Antonio Giugliano are the Seniors of the Month for September.
Alexis is an incredibly impressive senior with an outstanding record of academic, personal and extracurricular achievement. She can be described as kind, hardworking, friendly and respectful. She shines among her peers, not only because of her academic achievement and innate ability, but also as a result of her mature and amiable nature. This exceptionally bright senior is a top performer in all subject areas and is a member of the National Honor Society. Alexis is a true leader in our school building and can be seen everywhere. She is vice president of the Student Government, editor in chief of the Log, Student Government Representative for the Class Board and treasurer of the Mind Over Matters Club. Additionally, this dedicated and committed young lady is a member of Carey Cares Mentoring Program, the Road to Medicine Club, the Spanish Leadership Club and a volunteer for Rock Out Cures.
Antonio is a dedicated and hardworking young man that exhibits every trait of a true scholar, leader, athlete and gentleman. He has showcased his Carey spirit and acute leadership skills as vice president of his class and as CEO of his Virtual Enterprise class. He is also a valuable member of our Carey Cares Mentoring program, Marching Band, Leadership Gym and is a peer tutor. As a result of his work ethic and strong intellect, he was inducted into both the National and World Language Honor Societies, and was selected to represent Carey at our District Leadership Academy. Outside of school, this amazing athlete has been named captain of his travel ice hockey team. He also volunteers his time for Rock Out Cures and works a part-time job. This outgoing young man does it all and is truly an exceptional role model in his senior class.
