The art department is pleased to announce that nine art students, under the guidance of Ms. Livoti, participated in this year’s “Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher Museum” competition and art exhibition. Three student-artists also had their works selected to be in the art show. This year, 456 artworks were submitted to the juried competition of which 87 were selected to be displayed.
We extend a special congratulations to award winners senior Sudeeptha Shanmugam (Best in Show) and sophomore Maryam Haji (Adelphi University: For the Love of Art Award), along with exhibiting artist senior Samyrah Democracy for having their works selected to be in the show. Congratulations to participants Gabriela Krawczyk, Jay Bhandari, Caleigh Grima, Francisco Arriaga, Mars Merzougui, Grace Garvey for their efforts in entering the contest. Additionally, Ms. Livoti was selected for an “Outstanding Teacher” award for her hard work and dedication to her students.
