On Jan. 27, 17 students from 9th-10th grade were lucky to meet author and lawyer Scott W. Stern for a discussion and Q&A. Mr. Stern is a scholar and public interest lawyer whose writing has appeared in The New York Review of Books, The New Republic, Times Literary Supplement, Time Magazine, the Washington Post and elsewhere. He currently works as an attorney for Earthjustice.
Mr. Stern met with the students for almost two hours as they discussed writing, the publishing world, college, law school, the legal profession and more. The conversation was shaped entirely by the students’ own questions for the guest. The students were fascinated by Mr. Stern’s experiences in the world of writing and law, and he shared a great deal of valuable information with them. The presentation was set up by the library, and it was a very interesting and productive event for our students.
