The district's cosmetology students shared their expertise at the Long Island Women in Philanthropy’s annual Fashion Show, Marketplace and Breakfast on March 28, at The Lannin at Eisenhower Park. The annual event supports the Family and Children’s Association.
The event, held during Women’s History Month, honored women who contribute substantially to the Long Island community and members of the various organizations that FCA supports.
The cosmetology students contributed hair and make-up services as the "backstage crew,” gaining valuable real-world and philanthropic experience in the process.
The participating students included Kymora Paul, Stephanie Agullar-Maldonado, Alexa Osorio, Mariana Arcenlegas, Natalia Arriaza, and Kyma Paul (Sewanhaka High School); Michelle Vaquiz, Jaylin Gaitan-Reyes, and Carina Perez (New Hyde Park Memorial High School); Zujaja Anwar (H. Frank Carey High School); Keishara Holder and Amy O'Connor (Floral Park Memorial High School); and Gabriella Maggio and Imanni Torres-Santos (Elmont Memorial High School).
