The district’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) members attended the annual New York State Spring Leadership Conference in Rochester, NY, from April 10-12. Twenty-two students from Floral Park Memorial High School, H. Frank Carey High School, New Hyde Park Memorial High School and Sewanhaka High School competed against students from across NYS in competitive speaking events and objective tests.
H. Frank Carey’s FBLA co-vice president Lochitha Thambeliyagoda was inducted as a New York State Officer, representing District 1N. Thambeliyagoda will help represent Nassau County and run local events for FBLA in the coming year. Additionally, New Hyde Park Memorial student Nicole Pappas and Carey student Nicole Stringer were inducted into the FBLA State Honor Society.
