The District’s “Unity” art exhibit at the Elmont Public Library celebrates the district’s entire art program. Twenty-five students, each selected by their art teacher, were chosen to display their artwork from April 3-30 at the library. The exhibiting student-artists are: Isabella Jaimungal, Ashley Magdaleno-Salomon, Jason Persaud, Ananya Samuel and Eva Torres of Elmont Memorial; Natalie Czajkowski, Zoey Frazier, Gurleen Kaur, Madeleine Lynch and Chennai Wallis of Floral Park Memorial; Ryan Colvin, Brenda Li, Alyssa Osso, Chloe Urban and Isiah Willis of H. Frank Carey; Sara Erxleben, Fariha Hyder, Zahra Nuha and Suha Tasfia of New Hyde Park Memorial; and Joyce T Akinkunmi, Ethan Ali, Lyla Guzman, QinYi Huang, Rania Khan and Marie-Ann Aquino Rodriguez of Sewanhaka.
In Studio in Art, our students formally learn that unity is a principle of design that unifies all other principles within a piece of artwork. Unity is an important concept that students continue to incorporate into their artwork straight through to Advanced Placement Studio Art classes. Unity also exemplifies our district art department’s commitment to fostering collaboration and cohesion among students, showcasing their collective creativity and diverse talents. Through the “Unity” art exhibit, the Elmont Library celebrates the culmination of artistic learning within the district's art program.
