The district hosted its annual pop culture convention, Sewanha-Con, on March 12.
More than 100 districtwide students attended. They participated in a variety of events, including a cosplay contest and trivia competition. Students also played videogames provided by the Long Island Retro Gaming Expo. New videogames and classics, like Atari and ColecoVision, were available for play. Members of the Empire City Garrison, the New York division of the 501st Legion, a Star Wars costuming organization, attended the convention. Students could take pictures with Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper, and then had an opportunity to meet with them and learn about their costumes and organization.
Additionally, the Floral Park Anime Club organized and ran a panel on drawing original characters.
