On March 14, the district's art department held an artist’s reception to mark the opening of the annual Gallery@77 student artist exhibition. The event was a celebration of the artistic talents of the district's art students, and was attended by faculty members, friends, and family.
A total of 25 students, each selected by their art teacher, were chosen to display their artwork at the Sewanhaka Central High School District's Central Administration Building for an entire year. Ravenne Gregory, Aiden Henry, Jordan Rencher-Pelissier, Julia Santos and Nuha Sohail of Elmont Memorial; Shalla Bocanegra, Alexa Castro, Gabriel De Torrontegui and Samrah Faisal of Floral Park Memorial; Adriana Anjos, Shania McCombs, Mia Montana, Diego Penate and Shamiha Sharif of H. Frank Carey; Rachel Jacob, Israel Martinez, Regina Mejia, Cadence Sakmann and Ava Stampfli of New Hyde Park Memorial; and Yohana Ventura Alvarenga, Victoria Campbell, Liliana Leyton Lenes, Mumtahina Mohini, Marissa Ramirez and Ella Thompson of Sewanhaka are proudly displaying their artwork.
Congratulations to all the participating students for their hard work and dedication in creating such wonderful artwork. The exhibit is a testament to their artistic abilities and the exceptional education provided by the district's art department.
